Gas Mask Bunny Tee PROCESS PART 3: Applying different colored ink before each pull allowed me to make each shirt unique. I’d never print a large batch in this manner because the ink eventually mixes together, creating grayish-brown while wasting lots of ink. My original idea was to print the Gas Mask Bunny graphic in black so it would appear subtle on a black shirt. But after trying it, I wasn’t satisfied with the result, so I switched to gray ink allowing the Gas Mask Bunny to pop.

Only 6 total shirts were printed, some for a giveaway that PETA2 is doing to coincide with a project we did together. Any extras will be extremely rare and for sale in my web store. Stay tuned for info about the PETA2 contest and hopefully you’ll land yourself a limited edition, unique tee!

Gas Mask Bunny Tee PROCESS PART 2: Here’s where things get fun…printing the tees! As you’ll see in the pics, rather than select colors ahead of time, I elected to add ink in a random fashion to the first layer. I chose to do this so each shirt would be different from the next. Nothing is more boring than having a pre-determined result so it’s fun to “play” on press and have faith that things will work out. Going with the flow, being loose and open to the unexpected is always my goal when art making.

Gas Mas Bunny Tee PROCESS PART 1: Yesterday, I had lots of fun screen printing (silkscreening) new, one-of-a-kind Gas Mask Bunny tees! I experimented and improvised during the printing process making each shirt unique. Screen printing is very laborious so this process blog doesn’t cover everything. But it’s a good way to see what’s involved in getting a design on a t-shirt analog style!

These tees are part of a project I’m working on with PETA2 so stay tuned for a chance to win one, details to follow!

My mom always told me to sit up straight. About to be interviewed by PETA about art, pet adoption and animal testing on a rare overcast day in Los Angeles.

Just watched an interview I did with Peta2 to raise awareness for pet adoption and against animal testing. They did a great job and have my approval so it’ll be released soon as part of a project we did together!
