COLLECTOR PHOTO

Here’s nicely framed Ethereal Driftwood print sent in by Britt and Corey. Thanks, guys!

Bunny Love Pt. 5

Checking the rose test prints against my color swatch book, got it on the 3rd try…

Adding and mixing more tranparent base on screen…

Second color done and drying on rack…

Bunny Love Pt. 4

Checking the color against my pantone swatch book. At this stage, the blue was too dark and opaque…

It’s a small run so I add transparent base to the screen and mix…

After a few rounds of mixing in transparent base and test printing I’m finally happy with the light blue…

Mixing the second color, rose…

Bunny Love Pt. 3

This print required tight registration so I racked the paper before printing to let each sheet expand, contract, or whatever it wants to do. The temperature in my studio varies and all paper reacts differently especially when ink hits it…

Putting the screen in the press…

First color, aqua…

First test print…

Bunny Love Process PT 2

“Shooting” a screen meaning blasting it with a very bright UV light…

All the areas blocked out by the light (black on film) wash away creating a stencil…

Screens drying…

Bunny Love Process PT 1

Film positive generated by my Epson…

One film for each color…

The screens are coated with photo emulsion, one screen for each color…

Each film positive is attached to the screen with tape to hold it in place…

A view of the screen inside of vacuum bed…

New Screen Print

I’m pleased to announce my first new silkscreen of 2009. This 7-color screen print titled Bunny Love goes on sale today at Noon (eastern) on www.LuckyBunny.net. The size is 18x24, and limited to 55 in the edition. I will have 45 up for grabs because 10 are already spoken for. Perfect for all you last minute Valentine’s Day shoppers. All U.S. orders will ship via priority mail (2-3day) so the print will arrive on or before Valentine’s Day. I just put in a 15hr day so I’m going home to get some rest and will post process pics in this blog this afternoon.
